2013 GYFA Board Member Elections

Open Positions with Job Descriptions:

President: (2 Year Term) Filled for 2013

Vice President: (1 Year Term) Board of Directors Position.  Assists the President in the operation of the association and makes decisions when the President has delegated such responsibility or is unable to complete duties.  Takes over as President if the existing President resigns or is unable to complete duties.  Assists in the certification of participants.  Performs all other duties as necessary.    Mandatory to attend Monthly Association Meetings.

Football Director: (1 Year Term) Board of Directors Position.  Represents all Football teams and interfaces with Head Coaches to address all needs.  Approves all appointments of Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches.  Assists in the purchase, issuance, retrieval, and storage of all Football equipment.  Responsible for field set-up at home games (chains, pads, pressbox, etc…) Maintains file with all rosters.  Maintain record of all game scores and report records of teams to association and League.  Receives game complaints from Head Coaches and reports findings to association and League.  Coordinates scheduling of practices with Recreation Dept. and games with Veteran’s Field Committee designee.  Mandatory to attend all monthly meetings.

Cheer Director: (1 Year Term) Board of Directors Position.  Responsible for developing the Cheerleading program and establishing rules and regulations for participants and coaches.  Selects and approves all head Coaches and Assistant head coaches.  Assists the Equipment Manager in the purchasing of equipment and outfits for the program.  Interfaces will all coaches and participants and handles all disputes regarding players, coaches and parents.  Maintains rosters of all participants and reports directly to the President.  Coordinates scheduling and location of all practices.  Mandatory to attend all monthly association meetings. 

Treasurer: (1 Year Term) Board of Directors Position.  Receives all monies and makes all bank deposits of association.  Writes all checks to be issued to creditors with Vice President co-signing all checks over $300.  Balances the checking account and reports to monthly meeting on balance status.  Prepares annual financial report on direction from President.  Mandatory to attend all monthly meetings.

Secretary: (1 Year Term) Board of Directors Position.  Responsible for recording minutes from monthly meetings.  Assists in the certification of participants.  Keeps possession and files all documents of association.  Responsible for all mailings for the association.   Performs all other duties as necessary.  Mandatory to attend all monthly association meetings. 

Registrar: Responsible to run all Registration sign-ups, coordinate registration flier distribution to schools, and publish registration advertisements in local newspapers.  Collects all paperwork to include birth certificates, registration forms and verify participates have paid all registration dues.  Attends SAFL Registrars meeting and submits all paperwork to league.  Distributes contact information and copies of registration forms to all Head Coaches. 

Volunteer Coordinator: (1 Year Term) Responsible for drafting volunteer sheet and soliciting volunteers for each game.  Maintains a log of volunteers for season.  Responsible for coordinating and staffing concession for home games.  Responsible for purchases of food and beverages for concession.  Responsible for same requirements for all other functions.  Mandatory to attend all monthly association meetings. 

Internet Coordinator: (1 Year Term) Maintains Greenfield Youth Football Association website and keeps information current.  Makes all changes as necessary and provides feedback to Board on changes to site on monthly basis.  Works with Secretary to load all informational fliers on website.  Uploads GYFA forms on website.  Loads digital pictures of participants on website.  Mandatory to attend all monthly association meetings. 

Fundraising Coordinator: (1 Year Term) Evaluate and present Fundraising opportunities to Board of Directors.  Executes all approved fundraising opportunities.  Mandatory to attend all monthly association meetings. 

Equipment Manager: (1 Year Term) Maintains the equipment at designed storage facility.  Administrator for issuing and retrieval of equipment.  Reports equipment inventory to Board of Directors and makes recommendations of new purchases.  Purchases equipment on direction from Football Director. 

Member at Large: (1 Year Term) 2 Positions.  To perform duties as directed by Board of Directors.  Agree to accept nomination to any position that becomes vacant at any time during the season prior to elections.  Exceptions: Positions of President, Vice President, Football Director and Cheerleading Director.
